2000 Meters to Andriivka

The film “2000 Meters to Andriivka” is a documentary film by Ukrainian director Mstyslav Chernov, which tells about the liberation of the village of Andriivka in the Bakhmut direction during the Ukrainian counteroffensive. The military of the Third Assault Brigade overcome a dangerous path through mined forests to liberate the settlement from the Russian occupiers. The producers of the film were Raney Aronson, Alex Babenko, Mstyslav Chernov, Michelle Mizner, and Lindsey Schneider, the cinematography was done by Mstyslav Chernov and Alex Babenko, and the musical accompaniment was created by British composer Sam Slater. The film is a co-production of the USA and Ukraine and lasts 106 minutes. The premiere in Ukraine took place on August 28, 2025, and the distributor became “Arthouse Traffic”. The film won numerous awards, among which are the award for best directing at the Sundance Film Festival 2025, the F:ACT award at CPH:DOX 2025, the main prize of the DOCU/WORLD program and the audience award at Docudays UA 2025, and also represents Ukraine in the category “Best International Feature Film” at the Oscars 2026.
